The Project

A decision environment.
Not a brand showcase.

Things Department needs a website that does two things at once / enable immediate, frictionless purchase, and create a reason to return beyond that purchase. We are not building something conventional.

This is a RAD, aesthetic, and entirely unique experience built from scratch / designed to feel alive at every scroll, hover, and interaction. Every detail is intentional. Every layer earns its place.

01 / Timeline
3 wks
Fast-track production timeline from kickoff to handover.
02 / Surface
14+
Pages across core, shop, and content layers.
03 / Build
Custom.
Frontend + backend, no templates. Tailored from zero.

Aesthetic Direction

Closest reference: Curves.
Mixed with Becane + Geste.

The hero experience takes cues from curvesathome.com / immersive, product-led, with the main interaction happening above the fold. Single product pages blend the depth of becaneparis.com with the quiet restraint of geste.co.

  • R.01White background as the default canvas
  • R.02Orange #C4501A on CTAs only / never decorative
  • R.03VVDS Fifties / condensed bold type for display moments
  • R.04Logo animation integrated into the hero / not just the nav
  • R.05Hidden interactions: scroll reveals, hover state flips (white bg → lifestyle image), micro-animations
  • R.06Brand mark pattern (the meeple icon) usable as texture / detail element

The brand is felt in behaviour / calm, reliable, quiet.

Interactions

The details are
the experience.

i.01 Preloader Logo animation plays on first load. MP4, white background, smooth fade into hero.
i.02 Hero Video background or full-bleed lifestyle image. Collection or product CTA. Bold type overlay.
i.03 Product Grid Hover White background image flips to lifestyle photo on hover. Smooth crossfade.
i.04 Scroll Reveals Sections animate into view as user scrolls. Staggered, not uniform.
i.05 Logo in Header Not conventional. Animated or weighted differently / the brand mark leads.
i.06 Micro-interactions Add to cart, quantity adjust, CTA hover states. Orange only.
i.07 Brand Mark as Texture The meeple icon pattern from the brand guide used subtly in section breaks or the footer. Decoration that earns its place.
